    Youth Outreach Activity Development

    • Create and design an interactive activity that will be displayed for Guam Behav ioral Health and Wellness – Prevention & Training Branch (PEACE Office).
    The activity that you create will allow the audience to reflect and share their experience with mental health and/or substance misuse prevention.

    You will be sharing your perspective and view on the material produced by Guam Behavioral Health & Wellness Center – Prevention & Training Branch (PEACE Office).

    Work with our team to learn to create and design prevention promotion material, which may be displayed or used by the PEACE Office.

    Community Resource Directory Development

    Research, create and design a community resource directory that provides local resources on youth substance use prevention, youth groups or activities, or mental health resources.

    GUAM Herbarium is building a collection database that will virtually exhibit 60,000 plant specimens. Please join us in this digitization expedition.

    Serve and Grow

    We are looking  for high school students who would like to gain experience in an active and rewarding environment in our community gardens. Our Serve and Grow volunteers will receive hands-on opportunities that foster workplace skills, personal connections, and community service.

    Love working with kids, making an impact and changing the future? Then sign up for this project to  tutor and help out at Ironwood Housing in Dededo.

    Micronesian Resource Center One-Stop Shop

    • Join us as we engage with the youth during our weekly visits!
    • Participate in some of our workshops!
    1. Ready to Drive: Familiarize yourself with the laws of the road! We can help you prepare for your written driver’s test.
    2. Workforce Development: Gain helpful tips to get in the work field! Learn about how you can get smart with your money.  
    3. Hafa Adai Orientation: For newcomers to Guam! Learn some helpful information that can help you transition to the life here on Guam.

    * NON-PROFITS- WHAT DO THEY DO?

    Ideal for individuals or small groups of students. Research work can be primarily online. Some organizations require a Photo release and presentation permission needed before process can begin. This project allows the student to work from home with limited transportation and printing needed.

    Sometimes all we need is a helping hand. Learn about what various non-profits do and share the information with as many people as you can.

    * ADOPT A PARK IN YOUR VILLAGE (PARK CLEAN-UP)

    Give the parks back to the childrenThere are 12 parks in Kaiser Dededo, around 6 in Liguan with a combined total of more than 100 in 10 of our villages on Guam. These are Neighborhood Parks built within housing developments,  such as Pagachao-Agat, Liguan &, Kaiser, Dededo and many more.

    * Family FOOD Garden

    Ideal for individuals or small groups of students to partner on each other’s garden . Cost for this project depends on materials available, donations and borrowed resources. Preferred location to facilitate project is at the student’s home, youth center or community location.
