Community Garden plots are undergoing renovations after 11 years of service to our community. available for any member of the community.
In 2026, adopt your own plot, choose what you will plant and grow, learn how to be a gardener, and share your knowledge with others in the Community Garden community. Once you reap your harvest, you can share it with anyone in your community who needs fresh produce.
Volunteer with us in 2025-2026 to receive your completion certificate send us the photos and videos created so we can add them to the website for future gardening projects. WhatsApp 671-688-4752
Preparation Instruction:
Research online resources to learn more about what a community garden is and how it functions in different community settings.
Contact Kurason I Sengsong to schedule your orientation tour and new volunteer safety briefing.
Complete Volunteer Form and begin your volunteer schedule.
We welcome you to join our community gardens club quarterly meetings, join gardeners whatsapp chat, post progress on personal and group Facebook Instagram etc... be proud to be part of our team.

Activity Instruction:

After the orientation tour and volunteer form is completed make your volunteer schedule with Kurason I Sengsong Community Gardens team (WhatsApp chat) Discuss on chat what the work duties will be ahead of time.
Arrive on time
Sign in and sign out on our clipboard
Come prepared (gloves, shoes, hat, flask)
Always work in teams of three or more
Volunteer schedules vary. Make sure to confirm participation from other members. Once renovations are completed we welcome you to rent a garden plot of your own. Care for your garden over 6 months for service learning to count.
Work and take pictures of all the steps involved in renovations and subsequently, setting up your garden.
Attend 2 garden meeting within 6 months.
Spend a minimum of 2 hours per week tending to your garden and helping others with theirs.
Be sure to sign in and out each time you visit your garden so hours may be clocked in.
Plant and maintain your garden plot.
Research recipes that use your produce as an ingredient.
When your garden is ready for harvesting, donate some to senior citizens or anyone in your community who may need fresh produce.
Take pictures from start to harvest to donation, and post on social media with the hashtag #guamservicelearning #KurasonISengsongcommunity garden

In order to earn service learning hours, a reflection needs to be turned into a teacher who can input the hours into Power School.

Learning Standards/Objectives:
To give students an opportunity to learn about soil health and gardening techniques from other gardeners basic garden care and general planting basics they can use throughout their lives. To connect students with real world issues affecting gardeners and farmers on Guam. To encourage students to research various recipes they can make with their produce.
