    Be a Hero at Hero Con 2018

    Great Opportunity to earn 10 service learning hours! Work with industry marketing members in a promotional event that caters to young and old - HEROCON.  Interested students can sign up through Guam Service Learning.  Act Now! Limit of 25 students taking part in an extraordinary event of colorful art and fashion scene, with quirky vintage clothing, exhibitions  and cosplay  within Agana Shopping Center.  Be part of a working TEAM. JOIN US!

    Shorty’s LAND/SEA Clean up

    We will be hosting a beach and reef cleanup in Alupang Bay on Saturday, September 1, sponsored by local coffee shops, workspaces, and paddleboard organizations to showcase our brand’s first product.

    2018 LIFE (Live*Imagine*Fulfill*Experience) Teen Expo

    2018 LIVE-IMAGINE-FULFILL-EXPERIENCE (L.I.F.E.) Teen Expo is open to ALL Teens! Check out the highly-interactive activities, learning and FUN! Earn Service learning hours by being part of the planning committee, or by attending and actively participating, and sharing what you learned with your peers.  You can also assist with clean up efforts after the event to earn service learning hours.

    Adopt A Wall - Park Beautification

    Island Girl Power in Dededo has adopted nearby neighborhood parks in Kaiser Dededo to restore and maintain. There are large walls that are available for painting of murals. This project is an opportunity for students to plan a mural, to raise funds for it, and to paint it. Doing this will help provide the neighborhood with a positive environment in which to play and relax.

    Friends of the Park - Kaiser

    To provide families with a safe place to play and relax, Island Girl Power has adopted neighborhood parks in the Kaiser Dededo area, but needs help maintaining these parks.

    Guam Earth Buckets: Sub-irrigated Planters

    Making an Earth Bucket is a hands-on way to start your own garden and learn environmentally friendly ways to do so.

    Rain Gardens

    Build your own rain garden and help our environment too! As excess rain water washes over streets, parking lots and lawns, it can pick up and  carry many items and pollutants itno our rivers and oceans, leading to water pollution and unhealthy coral reefs. Rain gardens are important because they increase the amount of rain water that recharges to ground water, reducing flooding and erosion problems.

    Do you love books and reading? If you would like to share your love of books and reading with young children that may not have access to books of their own, here is a service learning project you were meant to do!

    Help senior citizens learn how to communicate on a computer or a mobile phone to reduce their loneliness and enrich the quality of their lives.

    Libraries Need Love Too!

    Celebrate a great book from your childhood with young readers at your public library. Volunteer there. Create an event  that supports the children’s section of your public library. For example support an annual Dr. Seuss celebration for the kids in the village at the local library. OR create an event that honors Pippi Longstocking or Harry Potter or....
